Huntly Sprints, Saturday 25th May, BRSS Race 2, Scottish Series Race 1

 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS MIDNIGHT ON WEDNESDAY 22 MAY.

REGISTRATION IS ONLINE ONLY, THERE WILL BE NO REGISTRATIONS ON THE DAY.

 

Entry fees: U18 £9

                 ADULT £15

Entry fee includes an online processing fee.


There are two competitions to be decided on Saturday:

 

1) Roller ski Series races (decided by combined times from Flat Course & Hill Course Time Trials)

​

  • 1135m Sprint (hill course) – only suitable for skiers competent on the downhill.

  • 600m Sprint (flat course) – suitable for all abilities (including novice).

​

Skiers should only enter the Hill Course if they are competent at descending the Huntly track’s hill. Skiers who do not ski the hill course will be ranked behind skiers who ski both courses.

2) HNSC Short-Course Championships (decided by knock-out/head-to-head races)

​

  • Skiers will be seeded for knock-out races from Time Trial results.

  • Each knock-out race will comprise 3-4 skiers with the top 1-2 skiers progressing to the next round.

  • These races will take place over shorter courses.

10:00-10:15     Safety briefing
10:15-11:00     Outer Loop (600m) Flat Course Individual Time Trials
11:15-12:00     Hill Course (1135m) Hill Course Individual Time Trials
12:00-12:30     Knock-out (flat course) semi/finals and medal ceremony.
12:30-13:00     Lunch break. Results collated.
13:00-15:00     Knock-out (hill course) Heats, Semi-finals and Finals
15:15                Results / medals.

GENERAL POINTS

The timetable is provisional. Please be prepared for possible changes on the day.
All age groups & classes (apart from novice) will race against each other in knock-out heats.

RACE RULES

​

Matched Marwe 610 rollerskis will be issued to skiers before the start of each race. Skiers should use their own roller skis for practice & warm up.

All skiers must ski in a safe manner. Marshals may warn reckless skiers and disqualification may result. All competitors agree to the Race Committee being the final arbitrators of any dispute. The organisers reserve the right to adjust the programme to suit entries and conditions.
Minimum safety equipment: helmet and glasses.

Public liability cover is provided through Snowsport Scotland.
